Who else has music aliases?
I know that some people have a ton of aliases, some only a few, and some have just one that they make all their music as.
I'm in the first group and have a ton aliases. I was wondering who else has aliases and who doesn't
All my aliases and the genres produced as them
Himeko Katagiri - Lolicore, noisy breakcore, speedcore
Ninja McTits - Noise, experimental
Azusa The Raw Data Tester - Raw data so like noise
Belgum Trail - Varies so much lol
Burkha ضجيج - Industrial, Rhythmic Noise
DJ Nurse Joy - No longer active, was breakcore and mashcore primarily
HarshNoise Suzumiya - Noise
Lolitendo - Chiptune, nesbm
Omorashi - Hip-hop, moeclick
Protostomia - Noisegrind, gorenoise
Sunblock Bukkake - Cybergrind, loligrind
HOUSE PLANTオーディオ - Vaporwave, vaporwave inspired hip-hop, mallsoft

Re: Who else has music aliases?
I just got Sherkel, though I'm not all that active a producer. I like the appeal of aliases, though...I'd imagine they help one get into a new "mood" for producing a different kind of music.

They always boost music making morale, well at first they do. Now when I make one it's like ok now what lol. I totally love aliases tho. I especially like the concept of secret aliases. Like "The Tuss" which is really Aphex Twin. He even went through the effort of saying it was composed by Brian and Karen Tregaskin. Mike Paradinas (Mu-Ziq) has also released under fake names as Gary Moscheles and Jake Slazenger. Also his Frost Jockey songs use a fake composer name of Chris Morrison and even uses a stand-in person!

Re: Who else has music aliases?
My main alias is AJHunter, which is what I do ambient, experimenta, and othr weird shit on. My lolicore project is adsmz, and I'm sitting on the name Heartcock to use for a harsh noise wall/power electronics project (just need some more equipment).
Re: Who else has music aliases?
I always use audacity for my noise stuff lol. I've made noise in Ableton to tho, I plugged in my keyboard and assigned a bunch of screeching to it. It's really fun being able to work on the song in real time. Other than that I have no noise equipment tho but would like to get some. Have you seen circuitbent stuff? People take toy guitars and the like and mess with the insides and it becomes a noise instrument~!

I'm always looking for stuff to bend, but I don't even have things to bend with (or money at all). I want some mixers and distortions and stuff, but still money. I'm stuck with som FAB pedals and my sister's guitar amp. So basically I can't do anything with my noise on a regular basis.

Reference to that HarshNoise Suzumiya song I made? That song is one of my first songs but then with tons of distortion added lol
@adsmz
Yeah money always gets in the way of things. I really want a bunch of Roland stuff to make acid but a 303 alone is usually 1k - 3k
I want to get some real noise equipment so I can take part in this noise thing that happens here. I haven't been to it yet but descriptions seem pretty neat "blahblahblah uses children's shoes as an instrument" and so on. I think my Himeko stuff is not noisy/weird enough for that type of thing but my Ninja McTits stuff would be.

Yes it is a reference to that.Himeko Katagiri wrote:Sherkel wrote:Sounds like a great way to celebrate going to Foodmaxx. :P

This noise talk is interesting. Didn't know those kinds of things were used to make it. We're talking about this kind of noise, right?

Re: Who else has music aliases?
Not including HarshNoise Suzumiya, I usually make my noise stuff out of audio from random youtube videos. For example I'll go to Google translate type in "cheese" convert it into Arabic then name the album that, then youtube search the arabic cheese and only use those results to make the album, usually naming the songs after the video used or using the album name and adding Part 1 and so on, I made an album i rather enjoyed which was entitled "Bath" in Arabic but the computer it's on died don't know if I can ever get it back

That sounds a lot like straight white noise getting shat on by effects, which is pretty cool and oddly relaxing.
As for making noise, there's all sorts of ways, and none is more right than any other. I personally prefer the sounds you get from feedback loops and effects, but my first bit of noise was done by playing youtube videos into audacity, destroying it, then feeding it back over itself with an aux cable and repeating the process. Unfortunately, that EP has been lost.

Re: Who else has music aliases?
I really want to get some noise controllers and combine it with my Himeko stuff. Know of any cheap & good equipment I could get? I think I might have a higher chance of playing live if there is more of a performance aspect to it. There's this punk club in my area and Masonna has played there so maybe they will accept a noise act again?
Re: Who else has music aliases?
I have:
CΘVΞN (Witch House)
KOUSΔKΔ ("emotional" trap, instrumental hip-hop)
Lolirolla! (lolicore, breakcore, gabber, maybe some noise in the future)
gotta love dem unicode characters
As for noise creation, all I really had for a while was a laptop and some headphones so I would just load some samples from funk, metal, other noise tracks, tv shows, vengeance drum samples, etc into FL, play with the pitch and add distortion, chorus, flanger, maybe play with the panning, etc. Haven't released any of it as it's just for fun, but I may soon.
I also might do some lolicore for the next viptronics album, but we'll see what happens.

Cool looking names I particularly like the use of Ξ as an E
What exactly is witch house? I've seen the genre name before

Seems like the kind of music you'd listen to when you see two identical houses and can't decide which one to enter.Himeko Katagiri wrote:Cool looking names I particularly like the use of Ξ as an E

I had like 20 aliases back in the day, but mostly now i use Emray only. well here is a list of those i remember
Emray (breakcore, lolicore, speedcore)
Para-medic (jungle,liquid dnb)
K4none (house, electro)
Ghagesuke (Experimental)
Snareles (samplecore)
N15 (Synth pop)
I still hate Catherine and her ears (breakcore)
